This picture is from our trip to Frontenac State Park in October, 2000. We stayed overnight so we did not have to drive home from Red Wing, MN after the 2000 Tombstone Trail. The park was open, and campers were welcome. There were a surprising number of people enjoying the late season camping with the remnants fall color. Showers and toilets had already been winterized; Pit toilets were open, and water was available at a hydrant near the park office. We always have a lot of fun with the Tombstone Trail. If you are in the area in late October, you are welcome to join the fun!
